Any architechs out there who would be willing to help with a school project?
I am creating a wildlife management plan and I have to include how I would fund my area. What I would like to do to fund it is to have an underground building. The building would be slightly rounded at the top so you can tell where it is and not run it over with a tractor. would have dirt on top so I can plant native wildflowers to attract butterflies. The building would need to be lighted extremely well with solar panels and maybe a back up system . It would need a small kitchen, 1 rm for storage of tables and chairs. one rm for storage of daycare items and one room for living quarters for someone minus the kitchen (they can use the other one) maybe attatch the living quarters to the kitchen and put them an extra seperate exit to outside instead of connecting it to the other rooms. ......Anyway I will need to know how much it would cost to do somthing like this and someone I could talk to to get a realistic price from. More points for realistic.
To start off with, you would need to give them an idea as to square footage.
a 1400 sq ft building would be less expensive than a 3000 sq ft building.
There is also the problem with getting permission from the local development department to do this.
Some places are far more stringent than others.
There is the added concern of ground quality. Where is the water table in conjunction with all this? What is the seismic condition of the area? Will you have ti file and EIR (Environmental Impact Report)?
My wife is an architect and when I ran this past here, with the limited information given, she said that you should budget $1 million, as specialized projects of this nature can have hidden pitfalls that drive up the costs
