Solar fan & how to use it ?
Just moving into a new house, has only been built for a few years I think.
It's timber faced, well insulated, has a micro-gen heating system that does 12 houses combined heat and power, and those pagoda style window shades.
There is a switch saying "solar fan", that only works when it's really hot outside. there are ceiling vents in most rooms, but when this fan is on (and very powerful too), it pumps hot air through the large stairwell vent into the building. Fuseboard has a switch saying "ventillation" - so I preume it's mains powered.
What is i's use, is it costly to run, and generally what is it for?
