Solar Garden Fountain Pump
What pump to use for an outdoor fountain?
I would like to get a small fountain in the center of my garden, however I do not have an outdoor plug. I also cannot get one because it is a rented flat, and you cannot just run cords out of the window in the center of a city.
So, what else can i do? Can i run a fountain off something like a car battery, buried in a sealed box a few meters away? Would a solar fountain work, or is there not enough sunlight this far north (55N), also where do you put the solar panel where it doesn't look ugly? Are there other types of battery powered pumps, and where would you get them from?
For any suggestions of where to buy pumps, note that i am in the UK.

Solar powered pumps don't work very well even in the sunniest of climates, so I would mark off that possibility. There are 12V pumps. I don't know where to get them in the UK, but you folks were almost pioneers in the water garden/fountain business, so a local aquatic nursery should be able to point you in the right direction.
